The Meon Survey Partnership can now produce 3d models or 2d drawings using High Definition Laser Scanning, this "state of the art" technology can create 3 dimensional 'point clouds' of thousands of data points which are collected in a matter of minutes. In addition, 3D computer models and fly-throughs can also be produced. As a non-contact or 'remote' instrument, site access may only be required once and it may be possible to avoid hazardous areas. Listed below are just a few of its surveying capabilities;

  • Digital terrain models in the form of points-in-space or rendered faces.
  • Heritage detailing including stone and brickwork.
  • Visualisation of a development within a street scene, for massing purposes.
  • Wireframe models.
  • Fully rendered 3d models.
  • Walkthroughs.
  • Room layout visualisations.
  • Building facades to produce elevations, floorplans, sections etc...
  • 3d models suitable for Rights to Light calculations.
  • Accurate volume calculations for quarries and spoil heaps.
  • Complex plant scans for modelling of plant detail.
  • Scanning of electricity pylons and overhead cables.
  • Infringement surveys.
  • Tunneling.
  • Crash accident analysis.

Using Leica laser scanners we are able to provide highly accurate dimensional building surveys (elevations, sections and plans) to produce very detailed drawings. Using the laser scanner reduces the need for site re-visits and is faster than using conventional survey techniques.

Laser scanning produces three dimensional point cloud data which can be loaded into AutoCAD, where we can produce traditional line plans. We can also provide high resolution 360 degree panoramic images that can be used to provide visually verified surveys, these techniques enable us to create accurately rendered 3D models that can be textured using the photography taken on site. Architect's designs can then be added to the scene for photo realistic visualisation and 3D fly-throughs. This is ideal for presentation to planning departments, public exhibitions, sales and marketing of properties and developments.

The Meon Survey Partnership uses the latest in scanning technology, the Leica Scanstation C10. With its excellent range, speed, small laser spot size and high accuracy it is the perfect 3d solution. Please contact us for all your building survey requirements.
